Thread regarding Intel Corp. layoffs

Lies, lies, lies from my Intel manager

My manager, a director, called me on Tuesday this week. He tells me he is eliminating my job. However, yesterday, he sent out an email to the program stakeholders showing his new org chart. He lists me as the program manager and makes no indication that the job is being eliminated. What he tells me on the phone is different that what he shows the stakeholders. He wants me to take the ERP package. He thanks me for being very professional about these layoffs.

Lies! Lies! Lies! This is the Intel way to eliminate old employees. To him I say: "The sins of the father will be visited upon his children".

oops, I guess HR forgot the human stupidity from some of their minions on their "Legal proof" algorithm. OP, save all your docs/emails. Good luck my friend.

Attention HR: You have this manager lying to me about my job being eliminated and sending email that I am the WW program manager as of 5-25-16.

The email was distributed to over 40 people worldwide. It includes the Vice President of the group, the country managers from PRC, EMEA, LAR, Asia. Well, well even the group's legal counsel is cc'ed.

This is a total misrepresentation of what he told me privately in a phone call. Intel HR, if this is how you have advised management of how to get rid of employees on the rule of 75, shame on you!!!

Lies, lies, lies

Why don't you point out the org chart omission to the team and your manager.

maybe he's just trying to do you a favor and let you know what's coming next. Or he's hoping with the news about you job in phase 2 that you will take the ERP now,and he can fire someone else instead in phase 2. Who knows, but it's clear your job is gone.

Copy all emails, get him to put things in writing. Send all to state bureau of labor and fed EEOC. You are being unfairly pushed out.

Toxic env for sure

Sound like he is trying to do you a favor. If you do not take ERP he will be forced to lay you off. The org chart just reflects the reality, you are still here. Publishing a new org chart is not a big deal and is done routinely.

No, not an old chart. He was announcing his new group after the layoffs.

Or your manager simply put up an old Org chart as an example and you are making more of it than you should. Intel is a horrible place to work. I know you don't want to leave, most don't. But I can tell you this, I have been gone for almost a year from Intel and I love my new job and could never..no would never go back to Intel. The were a great place for 19 years of my life, but now I have new and rewarding challenges with values Intel no longer had to offer. My suggesting, relax.
