Thread regarding Weatherford International Ltd. layoffs

don't Hodor too long

Geez, where does the time go? Who knows! but the money at Weatherford stays in the upper managements pockets, not yours! I quit last month after over 6 years and I was forced to by that stupid furlough. Its was not because I over spent! It was because Weatherford had barely paid any cost of living adjustments over the years and the furlough put me over the breaking point.

This is public knowledge, but incase you did not know Weatherford quit making well construction parts in the USA over 3 years ago, and this is when oil prices where good. (over 300 in the manufacturing and assembling at fort smith, 2008) What they came up with was low cost outsourcing to produce the machined parts that make wells, clamps and power units. I was there when it happened and what they did was open a brand new plant in Singapore under the guise of this was for the emerging markets in Asia. We did the training in the fort smith plant for the Singapore folks. When the plant went online Singapore did the assembly of the foreign built parts and now they drop ship the orders, and the USA Weatherford shops, from the last that I know do the repairs and refurbishing of the used equipment when it comes back in from the field from the rentals.

So don't Hodor too long cause I really do not think the company has the workers in North America in mind in their global plans. It was very hard to leave, but money talks and Weatherfords bs made me walk. Hodor

Its not just a plant they opened in singapore but a joint venture with a singapore company. They are in parnters with that singapore company. I forget the joint venture name but it happened and thats why all parts are being made there. Stupid move on wfts part to do this. Now the chinese company has access to all the blueprints, drawings of all the parts and im sure someone is selling them under the table.
