HA HA! TJs is opening 2000 feet away from the Westheimer store

It was fun while it lasted. This will bring up a map that shows how close these two stores are.

Who cares will be all the people whose jobs will be cut because the store may go from a positive to a negative comp.

Who cares? TJ customers will finish their shop at WFM and likewise. Congrats on your earth shattering news

Taking three to nine percent of a grocery store's business could mean death. Most WFM stores right now are pulling in very low single digit comps, or they are negative, so this is actually a pretty big deal.

Not when wall street is breathing down mackey and robbs necks to produce revenue and better than 5% comps..retail metric tell some good tales and for why they low balled projections for the earnings reports..

And there is no big Ha Ha in Houston as the two mentioned are about a mile apart. BFD. Really, not unusual at all, and not a biggie for ANY WFM location. TJs takes a little but never takes all that much. Three to nine percent. There is plenty of business out there for everyone to make a profit.

Well, they definitely tend to (or want to) be near our stores. But, that usually means "near" in a bigger sense with the distance measured in miles, not feet. My store got the closest TJs in the region so far two years ago with one opening up a couple of thousand feet away (0.4 miles). It was good for about a 6% loss in sales, if I recall correctly.

Maybe I'm ignorant, but how is this important? Doesn't every TJs open within a few thousand feet of one of our stores?
