Thread regarding Intel Corp. layoffs

Has anyone posted the 2nd email about VSP? The one that threatened us if we don't take VSP?

I'm pissed I can't print, forward or save the damn thing and I would live to show it to an attorney. I can understand why Intel did that, its a smoking gun of humiliation in comparison to the FIRST VSP eligibility email which was all puppies and hugs, with accepting VSP being a "personal decision."

Because of the overt nature of the threat in the 2nd email, I believe that we may be able to take VSP and still get unemployment. The same might hold true for ERP if you got the VSP letter too.

I can ERP, but I wouldn't consider it for a second if it wasn't for the threat in the 2nd VSP letter, and I believe this may give cause to get unemployment because we were forced to take a VSP or retirement we didn't want as an alternative to an ISP with less after June 2nd.

I'm tempted to call it up in outlook and take a picture with my personal phone so I have proof.

Open in Outlook, take pics, with the masthead and without. Microsoft pic viewer makes everything very legible and clear...I plan on laminating it for when I go to EDD...

Here is the email: http://www.tiikoni.com/tis/view/?id=a219f67

Seems pretty clear to me: if you're on any kind of a list, you're not wanted and you better GTFO sooner rather than later.

Remote desktop to your Intel laptop and take a screen capture from your home PC...

I have it on film, no method of capture will get it, it is on an intel machine running intel bloatware security and it is well enforced. Take pics folks- it's the only recourse you have.

You have to sign the release agreement in order to get VSP package. Once you sign the release agreement, you cannot get unemployment.

The amount you would get for unemployment insurance can't even pay for a lawyer. I wouldnt bother.

See...Intel is doing the right thing. You work for one of the best technology companies in the world and you can't figure out how to save an email to show your lawyer. If only it were 2016 and everyone had a camera in their pocket could you do such a thing. Your fired, and that's another reason why.

@HBn7M2y-and,

Agree. Life moves on and we will all survive, I did. My career ended last year and landed a better job, pays more, work less hours, no focal, on politics. Cheers

Please post! Having a difficult time believing this. Is Intel skating close to the legal edge on this or is it just me?

No method of copy/paste works...plus it's copyrighted anyway. Anyone checked with OR unemployment to see if this would fly for getting benefits? I may go in myself if no one else has...

A letter was sent today to ERP folks. It was pretty much along the same lines as the VSP one. Stated if you do not take ERP and are impacted by other actions later you will get a reduced severance and no retirement enhancement. At least no one can say this was a surprise if they decide to stay and that exact scenario plays out. Our children are very likely never going to experience working for a single employer any longer than 5-7 years. This is the new Normal. I am grateful for the time I have had, my children got good educations and nice straight teeth all of it on mom's GED. Yes I am kind of old, got my job when they needed lower level laborers. I did quite well for many years, I know it is no longer my time and I am ok with that. Not everyone can be at the top of the pyramid, not everyone wants to be either. Values are different from person to person.

Intel constantly threatens its employees, but BK keeps saying his management is threatened by employees on the "diversity" hiring. I am just wondering how much respect he should get from the current employees for lack of morale. May be he was trying to divert the attention from the "layoff" issue.

Thanks, @HBn7M2y-bak! I'm also eligible for the ERP so mine reads a little different, but I appreciate you posting the link.

Or you could put a modest effort into getting a new job. I see why they fired you.

As I recall, I tried the print screen key and tried to import it into Paint and it didn't work. I was in shock and maybe I did something different than I thought. All I know is when I read it I suddenly realized a target was on my forehead and I wanted to barf.

I'll try doing it in PowerPoint or will use my phone. Its pretty obvious Intel is ashamed of the email, seeing as they are trying so hard to keep the world from seeing it. Its not like its a trade secret they are trying to protect, just the companies reputation.

Press your Print Screen Key. That will save the screen. Then import it into Powerpoint and save it as a JPG.
