Thread regarding Intel Corp. layoffs

Are the Managers Liars, Idiots or is BK actually smarter (a little bit) than we think?

Talked to a manager a few levels higher than me the other day. He made it clear that the managers had no idea that an SL4 would get anyone fired. I looked at him like he was crazy and reminded him of last year. "But those ISPs were not based on only one SL4."

He then clarified that not only did they not know, it's to Intel's advantage not to let anyone know what the criteria are. After all if your manager knows the criterial next year, unless he's a complete ass he will do whatever he can not to put you in the criteria.

So BK and HR deliberately will no longer tell anyone the future firing criteria, just to keep the managers from getting around it. Of course this policy is in direct conflict with how Focal and ranking and rating have always worked; where you knew where you stood and knew what you had to do to get out of the dog house.

Managers didn't know, but that is irrelevant. SL4 distribution was forced. Managers were forced to find the bottom. And yes there is always a bottom.

That is BS. Managers that didn't think that it would be used as a criteria should be ISP'd. I knew something was up a couple of years ago when a friend of mine was looking for a different position and applied for several jobs. When contacted by the hiring managers, she was asked what stock level she received.

Transparency and honesty words from some horse's mouth is BS? Don't say it is so I got to believe they are honest and speak the truth!

Honestly mangers didn't know? I guessed this was a risk and did my best this time around with my 4/5, others not so much " so sorry had no idea stock would be used" as I was kicked to the curb with first 4 in a couple decades.

There are managers and then managers, got to figure out who you really work for, are you on the in crowd?

The 2015 layoff most managers were unaware of the SSL4 or below criteria. HR and BK actually snuck that change in with little advertisement. Then BK ran off and said everyone should have know that if your manager offered you a pay raise over stocks that year, resulting in a SL4, you would be at risk of layoff. It's rumored that over 50% of the ISP in 2015 fell into that criteria. BK is a snake. HR is full of lawyers..snakes. That's the new Intel. Enjoy working for that crap.
