Lots of nonsense on here from the septic states I notice! Just one question.......if you're so fu***ng good then why do your masters want the words "made in UK" on as many parts as possible? Truth is you've all been found out for what you are and that is a bunch of pretenders! If we can make it and ship it across oceans then either your work is sh-- or expensive, yes?

As for the rest of it, you are a second rate country making 2nd rate products and you need the Brits to salvage some prestige!

Oh yes, good luck with your upcoming election where you have to choose between Don Corleone Trumpone and Lizzie Borden incarnate, f**k me it's no wonder you all go around shooting each other in schools and malls.

Ps, what's a mall?

NOV will be better off. There are talented people with good work ethics in Houston. The people from the UK are slightly better than worthless.

Come on guys stop fighting about skills. On a serious note, its not about skills. Skilled people are present every where in the world. At the end of the day it is all about the cost. Cost of labor and manufacturing is very high in UK as compared to US. Personally i am seeing the projects moving into US from UK only because of the cost. Higher management only looks at the cost at the end of the day to make the decision. Also , the head quarters is in USA which means the upper management resides in USA. Whether its good or bad , NOV is gradually pulling out of the UK.

Hell with a hammer. Devil with a torch. Never met a UK guy worth his salt. Oh y'all can write all you want about the U.S. But you know deep down. When you sleep. In your dream of dreams. No country can match the USA in any manufacturing facility. so talk the talk. But you can't walk the walk.

It wouldn't surprise me in the slightest if this rumour was true, yet let's hold on a minute. The suggestion that UK guys are unskilled is ridiculous! I've worked with some USA engineers who were pushing trollies around Walmart / flipping burgers at McDonald's whilst I was at university studying electrical and electronic engineering for 4 years! Laugh it up guys, if it makes you feel better by slagging off the UK guys, crack on, we will have the last laugh when we take up posts with other engineering companies who respect suitably qualified and experienced engineers whilst the US guys will be returning to flipping burgers and marshalling trollies!

Here's one for you. A valve gets manufactured a NOV facility in the US, Air Freighted over to a NOV UK Facility then delivered to the NOV workshop by road. Then repacked then moved by road again and Air Freighted over to the customer offshore in Canada. Can,t really understand how that makes profit.

Wouldn't surprise me, most of NOV parts (eastern hemisphere) come from Badentoy Spares in Aberdeen, which in turn come from Bammel facility in Houston. Total crap/sh*t. Be cheaper to manufacture /repair in the states rather than suffer additional logistics costs to ship to UK facilities. In my facility, management are so inept at organising a piss up in a brewery never mind run a facility.

2017 will be the downfall of NOV cos they don't listen to the workers about the problems throughout.

NOV headquarters is in USA plus the cost of manufacturing is cheaper because of the currency conversion. I am seeing projects moving away from UK into US so i wont be surprised if this happens.

A lot of sh-- being talked on here , all the quality comes from the uk ,Conroe bits are second rate, any thing technical has to be made in uk because the states can't handle them.

There are no skilled people in UK. Unless drinking is a skill. Quality craftsmanship is in the USA. UK people couldn't machine their way out of a paper bag. With a hole in it. Well maybe if it had a pint init. Maybe.

Majority of the NOV UK personnel are not Skilled , Time Served Qualified or Certified. Well at least at my NOV facility, as we are from the same village . We have been manufacturing and signing equipment off for years with out qualified people and Certs or a quality dept. Any idea were we are??. So it does not matter where everthing gets manufactured , if it is to be Asian, Middle East the bottom line is it will be cheaper and that means more profit , that's all the NOV managerment are interested in not how it's built or if it's a quality product . That's the way it is .

I think you'll find the work is going to the states and the u.a.e seen if packed and shipped there with my own eyes specially where the manifolds are concerned and it won't be long before the pipe and fittings end up there also but you can keep on telling yourself everything is ok if it makes you feel better.
