$1.2bn between 95,000 people is still a nice bonus, I'd have spent my $13k on a new car. The people who Intel wanted rid of got rewarded for poor performance. The rest of us got all the disruption and ongoing fear. If anything Intel should sue those workers because they were paid for something they didn't deliver on.

OP - Many of those you refer to as "losers" helped grow the company that may (or may not) be providing you with a paycheck in the near future.
As for, "The rest of us got all the disruption and ongoing fear." Those who left need to support themselves and provide for their families for an uncertain period of time. They also need to explain to their loved ones why they were put out to pasture and deal with the fear of losing their respect. And they may need to relocate to get another job (disruption).
The reality of this situation (IMHO) is that the money spent on the folks being asked/told to leave Intel is a much better spend than a new car for 12K employees. When it's your turn, I hope you'll agree.
That is probably an honest opinion from OP. I don't understand why this guy comes here while "the rest of us", as he puts it, visit Circuit.
This guy is either a genius who is smarter than BK and all other corporate executives or a knucklehead who is not capable of understanding the truth and reality let alone human decency.
You seem like you don't even know your own rights and the laws. You are probably a millionaire with no emphaty for your coworkers.
If you do that for one employee you have to do that for all employees . Or you may be in troubles, legally. And guess what high execs request when joining Intel? The guaranty they get some package when leaving.
Yup be honest you got fired because Intel has a stagnant growth and growing expenses problem. 12000 is a hard target. If it was performance management wouldn't be so focused on this number.
You think I take some sort of pleasure in people losing their jobs. I don't. Do I think I'm better than everyone who got fired. No. But why waste all this money on people who are never going to contribute to the future of the company? Bk is a very poor manager and was never a leader.
The pay is so they won't sue and also not cause negative press. Dunno about you but around Christmas time last year I got a nice big check in the mail due to a class action lawsuit regarding wage fixing. They really hate it when people get behind a lawsuit like that.

I am glad to take my parting bonus. I believe I worked hard and leaving Intel in a good note. Somewhat happy too because I really don't think the future in the hands of our present leadership is going to be any better.
Intel should have paid the minimum. I mean there was a no rehire clause so why pay more. Really bad business decision.
