Thread regarding Intel Corp. layoffs

My biggest mistake was trying to follow in my dad's footsteps to become an engineer. I should have listened to his advice and ...

spent the same amount of time in school to become a doctor.

Dad, engineers do one thing, and one thing only. Work really hard to make other people rich and then get thrown under the bus. I hate being an engineer.

son, I don't think it's a mistake. real engineers create cool stuffs. Engineers at Intel are rewarded if they make their bosses happy, not necessary is a bad thing but the root of the issue is the guys at the top are happy if they can create innovative lies on powerpoint presentations, they are not interested in solving real problems, listening to the customers and creating compelling products.
