Should Intel layoff half or more executive VP's of which I read Intel has more than two times higher number compared to the industry average

Followed by management layoff and real flattening reorg

If you avoid ssl 4/5 and even 3, which is used for isp or vsp, or get rated O or E every few years, you will end up in VP position. To get rid of extra VP, you need to have a total different algorithm.

About 30% of the staff is redundant, and the wrong kind of people were thrown out.

Very soon VPs have to debug on the machine once the engineers are gone.

The VP to fellow ratio would really dissapoint Robert Noyce. If we actually cared about efficiency and not just downsizing we'd do something about it.

It's unbelievable that GMs are all VPs now. It's a meaningless title like in the banking industry.

There should be no more then 5 Corporate VP's, period. Since Intel protects their own, this will never happen.

I think there are only a handful of actual executive VP's, but the number of VP's (any level) has got to be bigger than industry norm. They always use industry benchmarks to justify headcount actions, why not here?

Especially as they get rid of Lower level employees and the ratio gets even worse.

Most of them will be in the way, slow down or jeopardise Intel transition. Most of them are too old to understand what it takes to win in this era anyway.
