So we dinnae ha' Trade Union representation. Well should BOD nae at least set up a Non-Union representative body? Ken, there's plenty of advice from ACAS on how this can be dean. Okay we's ha' safety Chumpions and Quality Chumpions. but fit aboot Information and Consultation representatives? Representatives who have to be elected by their peers, ken , as described by the Information and Consultation of Employees Regulations 2004 (known as ICE get it?)

www.acas.org.uk/media/pdf/6/r/Non-union-representation-in-the-workplace-advisory-booklet.pdf

I may be a numpty bit I'm nae f---in daft.

This is fae my Contract:

14.0 Change

14.1 You acknowledge that it is in the nature of the job that changes to your workplace, working hours and/or duties may become necessary and accept that the Company may vary these terms and conditions of employment to take account of such changes. The Company will give you as much notice in writing of any such variation as is reasonably practicable.

Da see why its 'necessary' at this time to add the second Sunday. Were nae exactly oot the door wi' orders. Assembly are twiddlin' their thumbs half the time. Other half they are sleepin'.

As we now have to follow Global Procedures and can't have Local Instructions I take it Betty will be able to quote from a Global Procedure to impose these changes? Or have I waived any sort of employment protection when I signed my contract?

Fa said the shifts are changing so we work the second Sunday? I've nae been told this!

Please read carefully, I shall say this only once. If the workers want to change shifts then everyone in that department (assembly) has to 100% agree to the change for it to happen. This came from Betty. Don't know if it's written down or if that's the rule of the company or if it's Betty's rule but this is what was said during the vote to the assembly guys.

If the company wants you to change shifts then they will give you a notice period and state it's for the benefit of the company and our customers operations blah blah blah. This again came from Betty.

So if the company change the shifts D.F has to like it or lump it. If the workers want the change then everyone that has a vote has the power to say no and stop the process. Comprendae?

Now time for a coffee. O and yes coco is a clown ;)

Ah, so 10+ years ago workers instigated a vote on shifts and DD voted against. Of course he did this for the greater good of the company, not out of any greedy self centred reasons of his own. But what you are now saying is that if the company instigate a change then we can like it or lump it. So why doesn't the company tell DF to get to f--- and change the assembly shifts to match everywhere else? And where are these rules written down ? And why do new starts not get a copy of them so they know what a joke of a company they gave joined?

Only 100% if workers want to change shifts. If company wants it then it's just tuff. Like it or lump it as they say.

My contract disnae mention ony 100% agreement requirement for changes, so fa does this f---in myth come from? I wisnae given ony employee handbook or local rules book either, so fa dis this crap come fae? Fa is this written down and why isn't it made available? The place is a f---in joke.

'Needs to be 100% agreed' - if that's the case then working the second Sunday has to be agreed by everyone involved too. You can't have one rule for one group of employees and a different rule for the other group. I'm gonna be the DF in the workshop and say 'No' . I will kick up a f---in stink beyond BoD if Betty tries to impose this in us.
