"You're going to take the EISP in a year. Then we'll both be ex-Verizon employees."

Nope. Once my EIPP comes I'll be a full-time-retiree. Not an ex-employee.

How about you?

Where the hell you pull RIF out of your Union asssss.... And I cannot agree more to other poster.... We will go find another job...coz its all about skills and experience... You work on dinosaur plant ... We work on state of the art IP networks... In all honesty even joining Verizon, I never applied for it. The job came looking for me coz I knew Cisco and juniper routers very well with top certs... And I see it happening again for me.... Just looked in my LinkedIn... Job market is great it's awesome... RIF for you means Unemployement applications.... RIF for me means... New and better opportunities.... Your frame of reference is so skewed just like the copper plant you monkeys work on... We are the Skill and you are the Skull ...

Most of us will not get laid off, but those of us who do we'll find other jobs quickly. Most of us are not tied to Verizon Wireline services. However, it's a shame that you wish ill on others. Everyone I met in my EWA has a lot of respect for union workers and wanted you to get a fair contract. I know it's only a few loudmouths on this board, but those of you writing this stuff must have very sad lives.

they're in training... we get a week's training a year ago, and are expected to jump right in to a brand new job. they're out 2 months, and need training to return to the jobs they abandon.

How are the union monkeys still able to be posting on this board when they should be working?? Don't you all have a pole you need to be on? And not your buddy's. Strikes over so you can't sit on each other's poles all day now! Get to work!,

@aib I guess you're right!. Sad to see people who are obviously miserable in their own lives, and who love to spread that misery around to others. Pretty sad way to live.

@OP, I don't understand the hostility towards other VZ employees. I find it pretty low that you would be so happy about someone losing their job. Pretty cold approach to life man.

The only middle class jobs you lazy union scum care about are your own.

see... that's the difference between union and non union.... a RIF is not "The end" for us. it's a new beginning. opening a new chapter in our lives, a new career. it's bittersweet, not depressing.

a fundamental difference in outlook on life.
