depends on the state. In Oregon you do not have to wait on that severance package.

Do we have to wait until we get the severance pay? I have many weeks of severance pay coming.
and don't wait... they ask for info on how much you got paid looking back a year and base what you get on that. I know someone who was on leave, so not getting paid, and had to put that they were getting paid for half of the "last year". It cut what they got in the unemployment check.
So start early...
As soon as possible. the last date of employment at intel is may 30th. you don't get paid the first week.
