Thread regarding Verizon Communications Inc. layoffs

You'll be ESIP'd before I'm RIF'd.

Hope you enjoy the EISP, maybe you'll get yours by the time I get my RIF.

"Forced EISPs will happen."

Just like Armageddon on May 20th, lockout, union never coming back unless we accept the LBFO and 3,000 people crossing daily...

Right.

An EISP would be welcome and I would most likely take it, paying me over $50,000 to leave would be awesome. That's enough pay off the rest of my debt and go back to school if I wanted to..hell yeah!

No such thing? You're right, there's no such thing....until your steward says "The company can do that". Good luck, hopefully it's a 6 and 6 that you get.

Uh, there's no such thing ssv.

That's the beauty of a no layoff clause in our UNION contract.

Verizon and the Union have said that the win for VZ was healthcare and payroll savings. Payroll savings start with high salaries in jobs that can replaced with a lower salary.

@npt in the new contract though, the company won the right to determine how many must take the offer. Therefore, some are going to be pushed out whether they want to go or not. Must meet the determined number of EISPs some how.

What an ignorant post. One has no choice whether you stay (rif) and one is optional (EISP). No wonder your management, your being lead around by your nose.

I'm hearing all of the EWA managers are now taking classes in the evening on how to make tea and cook curry chicken. The new management team believes this skills are mandatory for US-based IT workers.

EISP and RIF both have the same outcome: You won't work for Verizon anymore. Also, not all RIF's are forced upon an employee and not all EISP's are 100% voluntary.

And remember scabby, your RIF comes with 1/2 severance since you made so much $$$ on EWA and the company lost so much $$$ since you couldn't do the work.

Dude try again EISP is voluntary. RIF is not. Let's get creative now. You're supposed to have all the brains remember.
