Non-farm payrolls rose a measly 38,000 in May, missing the 158,000 consensus, and also falling sharply below the lower end of the consensus range between 110,000 and 219,000, as compiled by Econoday. For April, the non-farm payrolls figure was revised down to 123,000 from 160,000.
