Thread regarding Whole Foods Market Inc. layoffs

Comps are down...

because they are cutting prices on everything, retail 101. You don't think they are? There are ridiculous sales all over the stores right now.

who said anything about the prices at TJ's? No one...so pay attention, probably one of the reasons you got laid off.

Comps are down mainly because thousands of us who worked there (or shopped there or know people who did) are taking our dollars ELSEWHERE and because the competition is so awesomely good, we can find fantastic natural products everywhere! The quality ISN'T higher, the core values %$$#@ and despite the fact that the Team Member Appreciation peanut butter and jelly sandwiches were delicious, NO ONE IS DRINKING THE KOOL-AID. Yes, a couple of prices dropped but mainly, only the crickets are left to experience it.

Comps will be down when dollars thru the registers are down due to pricing. Produce is a great example of this. We can be busier and have negative or flat comps. The real standard now is going to be basket size and transaction counts.

Really? Doesn't look like it to me. Even with my discount the stuff at TJs is cheaper.
