We make a good enough living to where I'll be retired in three years and between lump sum and 401k I'll be taking in about 8000 a month and a house that is paid off already so I'll be enjoying myself while you will probably be wondering what company you will be working for

I just realized how little union boys actually make. One was bragging on here from NY how he makes $130k. To maintain my standard of living, I would have to make $321k in NYC. So obviously these bafoons really are low class monkeys living in the slums. I can't imagine trying to live on $130k in NYC. No wonder they are bitter, angry little trolls.

And another thing - I admit it took EWAs twice as long to do half the work of a good union guy - is this a surprise ? NO ! Remember the entire support staff was replaced if you wanted a new OE or SB good luck - just hope you got someone the line that that knew what they were doing. At least the EWAs tried - some of the COs were pretty good but some were just $hit - who ever worked the $hit ones checked out years ago, but the union keeps them around - You get rid of the bottom 20% of union workers and the union might be a really good group - It is sad the 80% of good union guys keep protecting the 20% of lazy assSOBs - those people drag you all down - Keep in mind if pushed I am "pro union", I fully get why unions are still needed - just find a way to get rid of the lazy/STD folks and you would have a good shop.

I'll agree that there is a portion of the union that wants to get the job done, and for those who fit that description I apologize. Here is the funny thing about your stats, Its all a lie. We have tons of work for 39000 people and OT. Most if not all the customers I have seen complained that they could not get a ticket opened. @kra- I will admit that I don't have the best grammer or spelling but I know how to fix things, I can build a house, fix a car, repair almost anything including power supplies, muxes, litespans, old lead cables, fiber, you name it. Dude. I just got a DSL with 9 repeats that wasn't fixed in seven weeks. 4 simple jumpers OE to TP to ME to CP on a cosmic frame. I looked at the clearing aliases an Engineer III and a Principal Engineer if those guys couldn't wire a DSL I doubt there was much fixing going on.

Listen to me, you guys may have bandaided a few things to stop the bleeding but no way can you do most of our jobs, I've seen another side of my boss since strike, he visited job site today and brought coffee. He now knows what we go through and has comitted to help us all he call. We all just want to take care of our families and have a desent life, can all of you just let the rhetoric die and treat our customers the right way? We all know wireline is becoming less of a factor but it still is important so let treat our customers how we would like to be treated, we are all on the same team and if we want to win we have to stick together, thats all i have to say about that and will never return to this site again.

The only reason you guys came back was because the union made a deal with the DOL, and Verizon got some nice promises of government contracts. In the end it all evened out because Vz will make boat loads of cash from these government contracts and you guys got to come back early. You'll still be sold off though. Ask the guys at Frontier if the thought they were too important to be sold.

I had 5 projects I was working on, 2 were urgent at the time because the customer was late notifying us of their need. None of the 5 projects were touched. I'm finding this same issue with my coworkers.

I'd bet that this was because when you jackasses left you made sure that everyone was prepared to take care of them right? No. You left and laughed on the way out.

Seriously? We returned to a major cable failure that was left untouched...massive flooding of the cables that had occurred two days prior to the strike...a total of roughly 1800 pairs...

Yeah we'll be camping there for the next few days, but the fact that no one has bothered to come close to it for seven weeks is beyond my understanding...

I didn't have an EWA though and worked my own job at 12 hours a day instead of the normal 8. So, actually I'm quite safe. Thanks for the concerns anyway. Make sure to drink water, wear your safety belt, safety hats and wear plenty of sunscreen. You guys act like installing fios or fixing a T1 is a minor miracle.
