US created 38,000 jobs in May 2016 - 162,000 were expected

Some snippets of data from the BLS Report:

UNEMPLOYMENT RATES:

U3 (official unemployment rate) dropped 0.3 points to 4.7%.

U4 (includes those who've given up looking for work) dropped 0.3 points to 5.0%.

U5 (includes "marginally attached" people) dropped 0.3 points to 5.7%.

U6 (includes part-time workers who'd like to be full-time) was flat at 9.7%.

LABOR FORCE NUMBERS:

The number of people in the labor force dropped by 458k, to 158.47 million. This extends the drop from last month, a rebound from the 6-month long massive expansion that began in October.

The Labor Participation Rate dropped 0.2 points, to 62.6%.

The number of people not in the labor force, but who want a job, increased by 130k to 5.92 million.

The number of people not in the labor force, but who want a job and have looked for a job in the last year, was flat at 1.71 million.

The number of people who have given up looking for work fell 30k, to 538k.

FULL- AND PART-TIME EMPLOYMENT:

The number of people employed full-time fell by 59k, to 123.1 million.

The number of people employed part-time rose 139k, to 27.9 million.

JOB CREATION:

Total nonfarm jobs increased by 38k, to 143.9 million.

Total private nonfarm jobs increased by 25k, to 121.8 million.

Federal jobs increased by 12k.

State jobs decreased by 7k.

Local jobs increased by 8k.

HOURS AND WAGES:

Average weekly hours was flat at 34.4.

Average weekly hours of nonsupervisors was flat at 33.6.

Average hourly wages rose $0.05 to $25.59/hr. (up 2.5% from a year ago)

Average weekly wages rose $1.72 to $880.3/week. (up 2.2% from a year ago)

Average hourly wages of nonsupervisors rose $0.03 to $21.49/hr. (up 2.3% from a year ago)

Average weekly wages of nonsupervisors rose $1.00 to $722.06/week. (up 2.4% from a year ago)

REVISIONS:

March's job numbers were revised down from +208k to +186k.

April's job numbers were revised down from +160k to +123k.

Together, this means that 59k fewer jobs were created in the last two months than previously estimated.

...and 500,000 left the workforce and aren't counted now when calculating the unemployment rate, which is totally misleading at this point. With more people on food stamps than ever before we are now at Great Depression levels. Welcome to the Hooverbama economy...

If labor participation is at 62% and only 5% are looking for a job(unemployment rate), what's the rest of the 33% working age people doing?
