Who says Intel is out of Mobile, Glenview is alive under new controversial chief in charge that should have been ISP'd for all he did so far.

We couldn't compete in a market where chip design and manufacturing on the leading. Edge was a competitive advantage.

So the brilliant leadership decided memory and IoT would be better. One is a cut throat commodity where even the best from slim profits to hide losses. Yup our fat design and fab structure will win there!

And modems, an analog and boutique business we have never done well and which mostly used trailing edge silicon is another winner.

Why not all in on ARM it needs leading edge silicon and has volumes of billions, oh yeah we failed to be competitive there.

Anywhere there is real competitor intel has failed.

Any question about the fate of the company, LOL

"We're not blinking!" Remember that quote after Nokia balied?

Nobody cares Intel.

You're irrelevant in mobile.

@bkh pretty much nails it - it was a strategic blunder of epic proportions. Nobody got fired, we lost tens of billions on this play

It means Intel gave up on selling into a proven market that requires 1 billion chips a year.

This market is still growing - especially in emerging markets.

The new strategy is to go after IoT which has far less volume at the moment in hopes that it will grow.

Some question the wisdom of this strategy.
