Why Murthy, nobody on the product side every worked in a competitive shark pit world where one had to bring out competitive products on schedule versus anything out and people just had to buy it. Time will tell if he can beat some sense into the product group. The larger problem will be TMG run by a beancounter. No amount of product execution nor beating from a smart outside can save TMG.

Who says Intel is out of mobile, Glenview is still alive under appointed controversial chief in charge, who should have been gone for all the damage he made.

Ps I would read Mary Meeker's ppt re Internet 2016. Hot areas are VR, diver less cars are we in any of those.

Don't underestimate the price curve, we made that mistake with Korea and China. The indians too Jaguar and others and made them great, brought great design. I was picked up in Hyundai yesterday. Ride in one before you make a off the cuff remarks. Indians were under US sactions for like 30 years for their space, I think they are launching 19 satellites for the US this month. @ a fraction of US launch prices.

China has amazing advantage on high tech manfacturing, at very high quailty, low cost. Japan is quickly moving more manfacturing to China, Malysia, vietnam.

We need to be more paranoid, we could lose huge markets quickly. The Asians have huge markets in phones internally, scale will bring cost down very quickly. PS just like cars American consumer will buy good quality at a lowest cost.

Murthy's potential problem is way beyond wasting $25M paycheck. If he only collects his $25M paycheck and does nothing, thanks god, then Intel may keep what it has now and can lasts another 10 years. But if Murthy does something, intel will be dead much faster.

I don't think we're getting out of mobile market (even though we have never been in it!). All I see during ACT is more and more projects on the mobile roadmap. I'm convinced intel will keep flushing money down the toilet on this - nobody seems to care we have never delivered.

This is so easy, China is going to win as it is the biggest market and regulated ( monopolistic ). Hmm sounds like Intel x86 a few decades ago, but going forward that gravy train is gone, as is Intel.....

Murthy is the last nail in Intel's coffin.

According to Qualcomm guy,

He only hires Indian

He will move operations to India

He apply cheap ways in his management like other Indian manager. Indian cheap ways only work in managing low tech business such as motels. Maybe later after Intel fails we need more motels to stay?
