Thread regarding Qualcomm Inc. layoffs

Climate Reviews Are they really Anonymous

I got an email regarding the climate review.. Are these reviews really confidential or they are used to identify the employees and short list them for the next round of layoffs.. Folks giving negative comments make to the top of the list for next round of lay offs...

Managers know how many in their group did them and are asked to make sure all complete it. Most dumb asses reply I've done mine and then they know who hasn't. If the manager knows their employees well they can find out as QC goes as far as figuring out if writing style etc matches an individual if that person filled out any written portions. Scandalous as usual and they wonder why their beloved meat wallet is falling out from under them. They don't do these costly surveys to actually change anything. Don't be a dumb assdon't fill it out and say you did as they would. True story I know..................once integrity is lost the company is lost, wait for package.................

Its not anonymous its confidential. In other words your boss won't be told it was you who excoriated him.

I never fill these things out. If they're anonymous, why do you have to authenticate?

Not just that, but I already know they don't care what we think.

OP and others who got climate review survey forms: Feed them the usual bull on the forms that you think is necessary to get ahead--because they can link it to your machines from work--even if they say it is anonymous. Post your real answers here--because Qualcomm has no real control over this site, and should not be able to trace it to you if you use your own account. We know HR does read this board. Legal is also probably aware of what is posted here. Maybe if they saw over 100 coherent criticisms in a row with proposed solutions something would actually happen for a change. If they DO see over 100 criticisms with logical solutions and nothing changes, screw the GTFO package. Start job-hunting.

I never participated in the climate review. I figured it was a waste of time anyway. I was asked several times why I hadn't done mine yet. So I'd gather that they aren't anonymous.

@tnn:. " over process is getting into blood, "

That is very true. With so many having left from Linux team , management is pushing a lot and lots of integration work and responsibilities onto developers. Understandably, every dev needs to do some amount of integration work with regards to ensuring features and fixes are handled properly... but they are killing dev with mundane integration responsibilities and ownership....

If your hypothesis is true, you should give negative review comments. Wouldn't you rather get a package than quit voluntarily and get nothing on the way out?
