Thread regarding Verizon Communications Inc. layoffs

VZ landline management bureaucracy is toxic and FUBAR.

The only thing they seem to do well anymore in landline is threaten and harass employees. Unlimited resources for that. Everything else they are pathetic. Condition of plant pathetic. Customer service pathetic.

Why would you not take your personal property with you when you went on strike?

Verizon technicians in the field are required to wear steel toe safety boots. They must go out on their own time and buy the boots with their own money.

During the strike in NYC, VZ went into the technician's lockers and stole their safety boots. Then on the 1st day back after the strike, managers sent technicians home without pay for not having the safety boots which had been removed from their lockers, obviously removed by management, since nobody else had access to the building during the strike.

That is the VZ management style in 2016.

"J.B has some definite connections. "

My understanding is that he's Mudge's son-in-law.

If any manager goes after me I'm just ignoring him and handling him my manager's phone #. I actually have a manager who is sicker of the bullshot than I am. He already told me he is gone asap, has almost 40 years and can't stand what this company has become.

J.B has some definite connections. They just keep moving him around. New York,New Jersey,Pa and now back to New York, and each time he moves there comes some kind of promotion. This guy is pure hate ! I've have heard his Daddy was some big shot executive that worked will Lowell McDumba** and also he may be Bobby Sludge's son-in-law. Not sure of the exact connection but there is one.

Same thing happened here in PA with J.B. It's a no brainer for a class action suit. Not only would you have 100's of associates for the case, but there's also a bunch of management that disapprove of his tactics. Someone just needs to get the ball rolling and it would be a done deal.

Are they still harassing you guys in N.Y.C with Q&R's or interrogation tactics,I headed that your VP J.B MADE ALL OUTSIDE MANEGERS GO TO CLASSES about how to interrogate the technician and how to lie and cheat in order for the tech to slip on words in order to suspend or terminate, that sounds Iilegal by all means, how the hell does a billion dollar company allow that type of behavior from their upper mange eat and coming from a VP

sub, whoever the person directly harassing you, is the person to file charges against. Yes, you call 911 and have the reporting officer write up a report and then file charges at the local magistrates office. I know it sounds silly but it has and does work. The harassment ends, you get a nice settlement and the manager is out on their @ss. If you are truely being harassed, try it and post your success story to this site so that others in your situation will follow.

who is the "local manager"? do you mean 1st or 2nd liner? what is the charge? I call 911 and say I am being harassed at work?

Harassment charges against the local manager. Additional employees having a similar experience would be called to testify. From this point it can then be moved along against VZ as a class action. This is the only way for David to defeat Goliath.

What criminal charge could be pressed? Be specific please.

The only process that will work is to press charges against the local manager to the local authorities and magistrate. This gets the ball rolling towards a eventual class action lawsuit. It has been successful in other regions in the past where similar issues were occurring.

Someone will probably have to record them. We need proof and we need a whistleblower to show the public what is really going on. Maybe we need a class action lawsuit. This has gone on long enough and something must be done.

Management at the local "Mega Center" actually had training classes on how to successfully write up and terminate employees. Several managers walked off of the job realizing that this was both illegal and immoral. Guess who was at the head of this snake.....J.B......need I say more? Harassment, whether it is being dished out to techs in the field or associates in the office, this behavior needs to be reported to local law enforcement. This is the only thing that will bring an end to this nonsense because Verizon doesn't want to have management tied up at the local magistrates office knowing full well that they will lose handily.

Fix time cards due to a ridiculous payroll system, send out useless emails and then put paper copies of the same email in your mail box and dish out harassment as they are instructed to do by upper management. Each and every one of them needs to be shown the door and a lot more work would get completed and workplace moral would be off the charts.

A few years back, landline managers came into work one day to be told, "You have no more pensions. When you retire you will have no health, dental, vision benefits."

From that day forward, there has been an inexorable exodus of any manager worth a sh-- out of the workforce. Some have gone to ILEC's, some have gone to regulatory agencies, some have become entrepreneurs, some have gone to Google, some have retired (if they had enough service to preserve their benefits).

All the managers left are either a) working a side job and half-assing their workday at Verizon, b) biding their time until the inevitable RIF, or c) people too damned dumb and or low-character to catch on anywhere except Verizon. Many fit into all 3 categories.
