Thread regarding Intel Corp. layoffs

Updates on phase2

So, June 2 has come and gone.

Why are things so awfully quiet?

We should know by now, one way or the other, if the 12K (or whatever the real goal is) was reached. Any updates from business groups efficiency actions?

"ERP has taken an extremely heavy toll on most organizations senior management and experienced technical contributors. I don't think Intel will be able to recover from this one."

Including in DCG and IOTG, which are supposedly "the future"

There is an eerie silence but everyone knows that the next shoe will drop soon.

BK has been pretty quite lately, I wonder if he took the VSP. 👀

@byz

Yes, I'm shocked too.

Went to one persons retirement party and 3 others were taking erp.

One of which I was surprised as he added a lot of value.

And his boss was considering taking erp too

Gut the middle. Makes real sense 😝

They will cut way more than 12k and get it primarily out of the US so they can hire in emerging markets and also hire indentured H1Bs here. Get it yet?

@cjb - There are way more than 500 in OR, ISP alone was 700-800, combined with VSP/ERP and other actions should be well into the 1500-2000 range.

Only thing I heard in Chandler is a big spike on Thursday with VSP takers.

I anyone has this information, what is the breakdown of the 12,000 by location. All I've found is 500 in OR, 700 in NM, etc. but that doesn't total 12K.

BK got the rollup of the takers, heard at staff the huge disruptive impact and realized he just screwed the pooch.

1) the money it is costing him to lose the people,

2) all the people he lost, some no loss and some really impactive

He should have done laysoffs by division and location and not stupid ISP and VSP/ERP. Keep the talent where needed and the dead wood, and get rid of the useless divisions that don't fit into the strategy.

Of course that kind of structural thing only works if you know WTF you are doing and they don't, LOL
