I am pretty confident this was a numbers game.
When I was a pre-sales manager at another tech titan the message from above was cut 10% each quarter no what.
I got to a certain point where I was cutting core people (not just the poor performers or the new folks) and it it gave me ulcers letting go great talent.
So the lesson learned to those who were cut. It's not you. Management unfortunately had to executive from above.
You've got great Oracle experience and many companies would die to have that experience working for them.
