Thread regarding Intel Corp. layoffs

VSP folks are targeted for Efficiency cut.

I didn't take my VSP and now I hv a meeting with my mgr . I think it is the efficiency cut . VSP folks are being impacted by groups that did not meet the target .

@nat I've now seen 2 people given "ISP's" through efficiency cuts. Both are eligible to find a new position for about 30 days.

Sounds like some teams are taking a very close look team by team. If they think they find redundancy then they give out this new version of the ISP. Really, calling it an ISP isn't accurate, it's a mini redeployment.

VSP is 2nd batch of ISP....let's not be naive and start looking for a job.

@nat you're incorrect, ISP acronym simply means "involuntary separation package" and Intel has the autonomy to decide the terms. If they have decided to allow this round of ISP to have 30 days to look for another position before separating it is their prerogative. Don't assume that "ISP" has the same t's & c's each time it's applied. It's possible that this is how they are managing "phase 2" of this RIF. Similar to their RDP program but with a shortened timeframe. If you don't know what RDP means then you are a newer employee and should likely check your facts before you claim OP is posting BS.

Has the severance package remained the same?

@asp You're BS, if you're given ISP there's no chance you can look for another job internally

VSP=targeted for next phase ISP. PERIOD.

You are too expensive, too old or there is nothing left for you to do with your skill set on the USS Intel-titanic.

I'm sorry to hear that, OP. Please let us know the outcome and if there's a separation package, please include those details too.

Employees have to realize that real target is to release between 25-30K, not 12K employees. This is preemptive action by company to thin to the large target asap.

Damn this is the same as me but prior to vsp discussion got a new FLM after prior FLM was walked out on ISP and SLM doesn't know me and everything was toast coming in. I decided to take VSP and now I'm glad I did it.

When you had the first 1:1 with your FLM about the VSP, what was the tone of the conversation? Did the FLM try to sway you to either stay or go?
