Read the whole contract. Verizon got everything they wanted. Higher medical costs. No pension or medical for new hires when they retire. They can still contract pole work and customer service. They can still transfer techs anywhere in state. Limited job security. Ten percent raise will go to pay higher medical. Retirees got screwed. Anything the company gave in on they really didn't care about.

Vote no, go back on strike and get it all. VZ must have a reason for all the givebacks, now or never.
I've gotten back almost 1700 and the week isn't over. Add in the 600 from last week and I am ahead for the year.

Its really sad that this guy was doing so well during the strike and still went looking for handouts. People like him ruin it for the people that really need help. I guess the same mentality went down when he voted yes for the contract and screwed the retirees and new hires. The retirees built the union. Now they get screwed by these dirtbags.

Hate to break it to you, Pedro, but I'm going to explain it again. My local had a relief fund in addition to the national relief fund, so the take home for my family went down a measly $100/ week. I, like every other tech in my garage, have a side business (since we have fluctuating overtime and normally retire from Verizon by our mid-50's). I also make enough money so that I have a savings account, an IRA, and individual stocks. Union members know that work stoppages are possible at regular intervals, so many of us save up for it. I did.
A 5 week strike meant that I got 25 workdays off, to travel, work around the house, unwind, and enjoy my family and the spring weather. If you want to exclude my 8 hours of picket duty (which was fun) then you could say I got 20 workdays off.
But what about that $500?
I had a yard sale and made over $500.
I pushed a little harder at my side job and made over $2000.
I sold some stock (have a youngster going to college, so I'm moving money into accounts that FAFSA doesn't consider eligible for tuition expenses). That $3000 in stock I sold I ended up not needing.
Additionally, you may know be able to imagine this, being steeped in bitterness as you are, there are a lot of people in the community who hate Verizon, and there are even more who ended up hating VZ after Lowell's letter to LinkedIn, and George Polling's drunken scab derby. Go to the local grocery store and mention to the butcher (Meatcutters Amalgamated) that you're on strike. Out comes the price gun; hello $2 packages of 8 T-bones. Call up your utilities and mention that you're on strike. "Oh, wait, we made a 5 cent error on your last bill -- I'm going to post a $50 customer satisfaction credit on your account!"
So I know that some people lost wages on this last strike, but a lot of people like me didn't lose a red cent. And then count up the things I won in bargaining! $40,000 extra in my eisp, which I'll take soon; another year of pension credit when I have my 33rd service anniversary next month; the wage increase, the pension band increase, the list goes on, and totals over $100,000....
Plus 2 things most of you Kool Aid drinkers and cubicle dwellers and Basking Ridge blo--obbers will never experience:
I sleep soundly every night, knowing that this company can't sh---can me at will to satisfy someone's greedy agenda.
And when I wake up I can carry my head high knowing that I fought and WON.

This is like when you're coaching Little League and one team get's skunked, 11-0. There's always tearful little boys on the losing team pouting, glaring at the other team as they high-five each other and drink from their little juice boxes. And there's always that one kid on the losing team, usually one who made 4 errors and struck out 3 times..... And that kid walks around, muttering the classic line:

I'll have to see the contract language about transfers, contracting, moving techs and call centers but the top tech lost about 11k in wages without OT during the strike. It appears the pay raise will not cover that loss. Couple that with higher medical expenses for both active and retirees, no job security for new hires and only 160 wireless store employees can organize and that a win for Lowell. Ya know, it's sounds like a contract Frontier can live with. Stay tuned.

Verizons goal was to break the union, sounds like the union outsmarted the company.
It was give and take, it's how negotiations work. They wanted to freeze pensions at 30,didn't happen. They wanted you to pick 401k or pension, didn't happen. You can always cherry pick to make your point. You my have read the whole contract, but did you read the original company proposals.
