Thread regarding Xerox Corp. layoffs

Xerox IRIF June/July 2016

We'll see what happens at the end of June. Traditionally there's a massive IRIF at the end of June to help first half results, especially when targets are not being met.

With the company splitting into two separate new companies I don't see how LEO fits in. Vertical markets make sense with software and solutions, not so much with printers and copiers.

Xerox business has been steadily declining for 10 years; $25 billion revenue in 2008; $18 billion revenue in 2015. The problem is that the people running the company don't know where the "bottom" of the technology market decline is...or if there is a bottom.

My father had 27 years with the union in Webster. I have 18 at Xerox Webster - not union, but XIM where more and more knowledge is leaving and complicated processes take the place of common sense cooperation and working together. Incidentally, I heard the MERT team called out to 216 and thought the dispatcher sounded stressed. Now I know why.

Praise God, there's more to life than work, but it's getting harder to remember sometimes.

I've been at Xerox Webster NY facility for 28 years. There were almost 5000 of us union employees then and have dwindled down to less than 500 at this point. In 2001 when the bottom fell out of Xerox stock our CEO still took millions of dollars in bonuses. We just lost another 34 of our friends/co workers last Friday to layoffs. Came in today and the company is asking us to work overtime. Xerox also laid off Management people today as their jobs are going to India. Last week we had an employee jump from the top of building 216 and none of this makes it in the media. I'm starting to wonder if Bill and Hillary Clinton have something to do with running this company. Makes me sick to my stomach!

There are lot of head count reduction and work force cut no one seems to be bothered nor want to talk about the issues for Bangalore ! There are senior leaders who have been asked to leave organisation just in couple of hours or even minutes ! No respect not formal announcement for some one who has served for 11 years in organisation ! Badge and laptop was snatched by security ! What a shame ful strategy for profit ! One of known brands in India failed in people management and talks about higher ethics
