Thread regarding Baker Hughes Inc. layoffs

IT employee reduction in force.

I heard of many names that were either offered early retirement packages or simply told that their services were no longer required across many Houston locations.

Lots of long serving employees with lots of knowledge have now departed the company.

And of course, the same leaders still "leading" the company. This leadership team seem to be accountable only to their own little group.

Start with that useless CIO who has done nothing for the past year and a half except sit around waiting for the merger to collect her retention bonus.

Correct, IT is not a product line.

SAP is the ERP system that the financial people use to run the company. The executives chose SAP, not the people that work in IT.

If it wasn't SAP it would have been something else, and it would have had the same money spent on it.

IT is not a product line ...millions have been spent on so called SAP upgrades for the last 10 years. The obvious question is WHY ? ..and what was the benefit ? (FA)1/2 ..Tail wagging the dog.

And in other news; the Titanic hit an ice-berg & sank, day follows night and water is wet.

"Lots of long serving employees with lots of knowledge have now departed the company"
