OP, dont get too excited about this. These modems will be built in TSMC's fabs, not Intel's. Also the margins are very low on these modems. So if Lucky the revenue for this design win would pay for Aicha's fat paycheck, with any scraps thrown at the third rate, highly paid , wanabe modem design team in Munich

Hello OP INTEL HR. Dumb ass Dumber and dumber every day you are. So, you think this is a Design Win?

Yes, I am actually very well informed about IMC in Munchen, Bayern, Deutchland, and IMC internal state of affairs (former Infineon Wireless. bought by INTEL in Y2011). I am working for these guys from 2008, and you guess what???

After INTEL acquired us, we went all the way down the hill, We NEVER made application mobile processor on x86 (even after 5 f-cking years).

Do you copy that, you dumbass INTEL HR PR?

Nothing like an uneducated post.

Modem isn't a high revenue product with big margin. The part was designed by an aquisition and fabed at a external foundry. The foundry gets money for making it, how much you think intel makes. More likely Intel wrapping a Franklin around it like they did with Tablet.

Now if they get the Aps processor that will be news.

I give zilch that we will have internal silicon analog modem working till 2018. Intel has horrible record and experience doing anything analog. All the best technologist are consumed trying to get 10nm working who is left to do analog with any quality?

No it's new news actually . all this time it was just a rumor. Qualcomm sticks are down after the news was out few hours back .

What is Intel's ROI there?

Contra revenue anyone?

It's pathetic that they have to give their modem away to Apple while also relying on TSMC.
