Maybe a big hook will come from back stage and drag him off camera

Maybe he'll explain how all that diversity is flooding Intel's bottom like while thousands of years of knowledge walks out the door being replaced by RCGs from CR, india, or Malaysia.

No, He's going to try and pump sun shine up our backsides. I'll take the afternoon off.

My bet is he is not going to provide any numbers. Just a bunch of generic statements.

Layoffs have been tough. Let's show compassion to those affected. We have a compelling new strategy to return to growth

  1. De-fund PCs since nobody wants those anymore. Our margins are too high there.

  2. De-fund mobile SOCs. At 1 billion unit volumes, this market just isn't big enough for us

  3. Memory. We will invest heavily in a proprietary, expensive technology to compete in what is a commodity industry. No one will ever build competing solutions because we are experts in memory.

  4. FPGA - we will concede market share to Xilinx by introducing Altera to our super slow and expensive design cycles. Expect to see exciting new products in 2020 after our market share has been decimated further. By that time we will have a proprietary solution that will only work with Intel. Our competition will have open standards and interoperate across multiple platforms. We will win this way.

  5. IoT will drive unit volumes in the fab. Our proprietary x86 solutions will be the industry standard because of what happened 30 years ago with PCs. Vendors will love giving all of their margin to us, leaving them gasping for air just like Asus and Acer.

  6. Server- we will maintain monopoly pricing on server processors as our competitors take share on the low end. We will continue to retreat to higher margin but lower volume segments until our competitors reach critical mass and are able to exceed our performance

  7. Process leadership - we're taking our time with 10nm and 7nm. The competitors may pass us but we want to get it right the first time around.

Congratulations on staying here at Intel.
