Thread regarding Intel Corp. layoffs

How is ICF doing?

Intel Custom Foundry was over hyped and over hired for the past few years.

The whole concept of fab filler of low volume on the high end process makes no sense. The masks are so expensive the product must be super high ASP. Where it makes sense is to have lots of IP and tools to enable designs on the older nodes which is totally against all of intel focus

ICF has to be successful, there is no other choice. Billions of opportunity cost will go down the drain if they fail. That is what I meant by Intel's life line. If Intel is less arrogant and listen to the customers more, this is the business unit that has the highest chance of success. .. but only in the hands of competent management and engineers. . But not the hands of in-bred, spoilt, blind and deaf retards.

ICF won't be axed. It's Intel life line ,although they might not be smart enough to realise it yet.

Ask the fabs about the thousand of wafers run that pay the salary of the thousand of employees that come in at 9 and leave early.

Didn't we have to but some companies to make them use intel fab?

Having lots of customers in ICF? Then why did their Place and Route group have a 40% layoff?

Also why did Sohail have AD head come into ICF to kick engineers out? Doing good I think not.

Seems like ICF has alot of customers at the moment. Only folks in ICF and corporate level management knows the details as it is kept secret because if customer relations. But talking to ex Intel employees I have been told ICF looks very promising and many design wins coming in the next 2 years .
