Can someone provide more detail, there is a ton of Pay Scale Grades information on Glassdoor for Chevron, but it's confusing - can someone provide more detail

Most important for a new hire, higher the PSG, higher the target percentage of your salary for the Chevron Incentive Program (CIP) bonus.
don't forget that the PSG grades (or bands as they are called in other companies) are overlapping.
someone with a PSG 20 could be making more than someone with a PSG 22, depending on their CO.
here is a 2014 post from Glassdoor that shows some numbers although I am not sure how accurate they are as there should be more overlap.

Ask your supervisor to provide you a copy of this year's PSG grades. HR will and has handed out these new PSG lists freely in the past for those who request them.
Higher the PSG the higher your paychecks. Pretty simple
