Thread regarding Intel Corp. layoffs

Tips for the unemployed

Guys, check the audacity nano degrees. Some of them such as machine learning come with money back guarantee if you don't find a job. Get in before a lot of h1bs are brought in and trained in it. Even h1bs don't know machine learning yet. You don't need specific background. The course is designed for real world jobs.

Thanks for the post OP. This is something I want to research more on. Even though I have a degree, this seems an excellent way to modernize or fine tune some skills.

True. All intel applicants are sent to the circular file. Too much trouble.

The funny thing is that it isn't that hard to learn something and get a good job in the tech industry, but Intel employees are different. Most of them are completely clueless about the real world and have been sheltered in the clown show that is Intel. Hiring managers look at Intel candidates with a huge red flag. It shows an inability to adapt and compete.

Intel lifers with 25+ years don't want to learn anything new.

They want their old cush jobs back where they could work easy hours, take long lunches etc...
