Thread regarding Intel Corp. layoffs

SIgned up for Cobra but https://leplb0160.portal.hewitt.com/web/intel says I have to pay premiums ?

Can anyone advise ?? Should I accept the above terms ? I'd sent a note prior to the cutoff to

transition support advising them that I would elect Cobra. Thanks. ( perhaps the hewitt.com

website is still catching up ?? )

People who don't know answers SHOULD NOT be posting answers to confuse others. There are impacted employees who want to genuinely understand.

The health benefits advisor mentioned it clearly to me that Intel will pay for Cobra for 6 months or for 12 months, depending on what you chose. Furthermore, the email address for health benefits enrollment had to be provided to them. They do NOT have an email on file and are NOT linked to the HR department. So don't assume you will get notifications until you provide an email to Health benefits.

I received my Cobra enrollment confirmation in the mail. It says it is valid for 3 months only.

I requested Cobra for 6 months. The remainder of the 3 months will be tacked on once the processing for the signed paper work (the waiver) has been completed.

Once you log into the Intel Health Benefits website, you should check to make sure that the coverage is what you want (6 or 12 months) once all the waiver information is actually input.

After the time period expires, you have the option to stay on with Cobra, but you would be responsible for the payments which varies with the plan and number of people covered.

On a different note, I did not receive confirmation that the waiver paperwork was received by them. But when i spoke with the HR staff, I found that they had received it. Apparently they do not have a system to send an email to people from whom they have received an emailed waiver. How pathetic for a company so technically advanced like this!

The feedback I received is that Intel would cover the Cobra insurance premiums at the source (i.e. one

does not have to pay Cobra premiums ). If any one else has input on this (serious info only please) - do advise

My understanding is that the insured has to pay the COBRA premiums every month and then submit reimbursement forms to Intel...every month.
