Cant wait to see ARM based servers take over the Intel business! With the likes of @ltj on this web site (apparently an Intel employee who has time to troll this web site!), ARM will be in great shape to take over!

The fundamental core issue in technology is sometimes no matter what you do you can change technology.
Nobody could beat the x86 when it rose in the wintel era. Similar nobody could compete with IBM in the mainframe days, Kodak in the film days, etc. etc.
A PC ain't going away just like a car, but the glory days are gone and being the flagship of technology and where the world revolves around it will to.
In the most glaring example is the old Westinghouse competition, that giant has fallen, intel took it, and has passed it on to.
Nope the golden goose will continue to lay eggs but it is done with them soon being golden.
The best situation is x86 keeps some relevancy in the server market. But everyone can and does design ARM and at 10nm TSMC will enable some very competitive platforms and when Apple moves all its hardware to ARM that will be the marker that the sun has finally set and it will soon grow dark in the wintel land.
Servers, lets be serious custom ARM with hardware acceleration will also start to build. Will take more time, just like Intel too time to get the servers and clouds from the entrenched minicomputer and mainframes that time is at hand.
