Apple is really going down hill. Do you think after antenna gate Steve jobs would risk this. They'll be multiple teardown sites examining Intel iPhones vs Qualcomm. It's going to be pretty bad got Apple. I can imagine everyone will want a Qualcomm iPhone!

Yes, Intel might not save his asswith this deal but you have to admit it, the win is a significant one for Intel and this modem product is far more complex than every x86 chip Intel ever sold.

The Galaxy S5 (as also the newer s6 and s7) has a Samsung modem not Qualcom. Q lost a significant part of their market share to Samsung (which produces their own SoC with integrated modem) and in fact this Intel win opens the path to new loses.
I love my Galaxy S5!! No problems with signal quality on this version.
Get a life and a job morons. Q's modems are not even close to what they are advertised for. If in doubt ask the owners of Galaxy S4 (Q modem) which are one of the worst devices when it comes to cellular signal quality. AT&T will not allow inferior modems to occupy they're spectrum and Apple will not risk the reputation they got with an inferior cellular modem product.

Intel's modem has lot of SW bugs than Qualcomm, not stable.
