I took the ERP in DCG, but many who got VSP in DCG are simply ignoring it and going about their business. Are they safe? Was this a bluff by HR? They are laughing that I am out the door soon and think I am foolish. Thoughts?

I believe the VSP was a bluff. Those that didn't accept it will remain untouched and unscathed until there is another round of VSPs (likely next year).
Rumor is 50% of those over 55 took took VSP/ERP so BK achieved what he wanted get rid of all the older high paid and backfilled with RCG who now think they go chance for promotion and such.
So lots of opportunities for leadership on the Titanic, the bluff wasn't called and I think there will be no more VSP but some trimming on the site relocation and program kills.
Keep in mind, this isn't being driven by HR. Which is actually kinda good, as you only need to guess if BK and Murthy are bluffing.
Collect the money, enjoy a extended sabbatical.
If you still need to work, get linkedin going, work with LHH and network with your buddies. I see lots of successsful ext intel, almost all of them are happier and more successful. Unless you are on the in crowd, or being lobotomized by intel style you should find a very bright future outside.
The ship is going down.. get out and find a new boat. While it may float for a while, it will sink as Moore's Law is ending and Intel has really no strategy to cope with that fact!
Likely hr just trying to say we may choose not to be so generous next time. They kinda say that the last 5 years or so. Still, not a bad choice to choose to go and avoid the anguish of having no choice and the potential regret of working for "free" for next year or so. I say, Congrats, you hit the jackpot!
Some ERPS AND VSPS have ignored the offer, however they are living in constant fear that they will be next in coming layoff round
@ooi: Bad advice. Why ignore the warning and either later get ISP/VSP with a lesser package or continue to work in the current hostile environment. No thank you, it's time to leave now! Anybody staying is not smart!
They 'only' had 1.4 billion to throw at this, so packages will dwindle as they burn through it
There will be more layoffs this year, next year, and the year after with packages that pay jack sheet.

Doubt it. Next round will be redeployment like - those on the list will have 30 days to find another job or be out. Don't know what the severance package will be like.
