Intel wants to retain the top guns, the best of the best. Old work horses go to the glue factory.

Seems like hiring a lawyer would cost more $$ & time than spending that same $$ & time finding another job. Personally I'm out & don't ever plan to look back. The only thing related to Intel for me is keeping in touch with great people I've met over the years.
Agreed...time to move on my friend. It is over.
People who don't see the value in going back are missing the big picture. A steady paycheck through EOY plus not being lumped into the ISP pool make finding a new job way easier.
OP, please, fight back INTEL HR decision, and show them all (INTEL haters and losers) that you are worth. INTEL will love you for that. You'll be on the fast path promotion for the rest of your business life in INTEL.
INTEL is like big family, they value very HIGH their former squad coming back via third party/external Legal. Trust me on that. :-)
For god sake forget Intel and find a job somewhere else. Why the heck would you want to go back to this madness?
