So like me you have been notified that you will no longer be a employee of Intel and you are wanderingwandering the halls looking for sympathy right? Well ladies and gentlemen; move on! Get your resume in order and hit the web, talk to your friends start making forward progress. Every one of you who thought you were gonna have this illustrious career at Intel and didnt start working there in the late 80's or early 90's were outright naive to ever think that was a realistic goal; you want that type of job go work for the state! Start looking at your career from an optimistic perspective, do you not posess greater knowledge than you had coming in? Time to get back up on that horse and write the next chapter of you life. Stop whining and posting, I heard this, they said this BK did that or didnt do that...It doesn't matter, you no longer work there so move on or someone else is going to take the job you missed out on posting your "whoa is me" rants! For those of you just looking for awnsers about how to leave Intel, this isn't directed at you. We're just using the forum for information and advice that is needed to end your employment with Intel correctly. We shall prevail!

If you & OP's posts had any depth to your thoughts, then you'd know there are plenty of people who know what at-will employment means. A job at Intel or any other company out there is just a job. In order to survive & be successful, it is up to us, all of us, to take personal responsibility to find a job and keep it.
Try getting off your high horse every once in a while & stop treating people like imbeciles just because you choose to act like one.

OP your post seems passive aggressive hiding underneath a thin veil of positivity. Have you been the one wasting time going around the halls looking for sympathy? In other words, are you projecting yourself onto others?
F*u! Who says people being layoff are complaining about it? I am having the best time of my life here, not having to go to the hell hole every morning or listen to the idiot BK. I didn't rewrite my resume or look for a job; I am not interested in working for a corporation anymore. There are so much life out there. I get up 7am every morning eagerly working for myself, done by lunch time. Sure, I don't make as much money as with Intel, but I am more happy than ever. In fact, I am thinking about working from the beach here, while you waste your life working for some idiot who will not hesitate to give you an axe anytime.
First thing is to learn how to spell "Laid off"
What is it about this person's relatively positive, practical, forward-looking perspective that feels so threatening for you that you'd use your wondrous little keyboard to communicate in a profane, abusive fashion? The author is, after all, another human being. You're not face-to-face with them, but they still exist just as much as if you were sitting at a table together.
Granted, the author did call you an unrealistic, naïve whiner. That wasn't entirely polite of them either.
It's, of course, entirely understandable if you were laid off by Intel - either recently or in the past - and that was such a blow to your sense of self (and security) that you want your anger and spite at the company to be validated by others. Possibly you've actually welcomed the size of the current layoff because there are so many like you, who share your bitter feelings. It's created a support group for you. We're Right and They're Wrong! We're the Real Winners! They're Going to Suffer More!
And maybe that bitterness and spite even extend to the people who are still employed by Intel, due to the implication that they're better than you, since they weren't "rejected."
If someone ISN'T bitter and spiteful - if someone is contradicting your own perspective on this challenge - then you feel the need to undermine their credibility and criticize them. They're also a threat to your sense of self, because you can't bring yourself to see the situation that way; that's not how you think and feel, so that person has to be ridiculed and debased, to protect your own battlement of validation.
Getting laid off is a traumatic event. And people do deal with harsh realities differently - because people ARE emotionally and psychologically equipped in a variety of ways. It probably seems immensely satisfying to come onto this site and release the dark Kraken of your id. To abuse without apparent repercussion. But to generate those nasty comments you have to FEEL nasty. And they don't change the reality of your situation. Or the far more chipper author's situation. That author actually made some people feel hopeful - whereas your expressed ugliness just assured the other Gollums that they have a peer group. Is this what you want for yourself? Not even for anyone else, but for yourself?
We all have better natures and worse natures - even the chipper poster - and it's a matter of which we're going to let loose on the world, even anonymously.
