Thread regarding Whole Foods Market Inc. layoffs

Positions open

Hey everybody, there are a lot of opportunities available with this company to move up and make more money. Look around you for ideas, be a grown up about everything, always do your job well, cultivate your image in your store, and reap what you sow for better or worse. Your reputation cannot easily be rebuilt if you screw it up. Teams (and stores) talk to each other about applicants so don't act like a friggin' baby!

-ndv, I am gone. Or was gone. Last year. I have family and friends still working there; some of them have been fired, some know it's only a matter of time, some are keeping their heads down and hoping they're not the next to go. These are people with lots of responsibilities (kids, mortgages, cars), so it's not easy to try and find something else that pays as well.

Having said that I don't know ANY OF THEM who believe any of this nonsense that the company is doing fine, or will do fine. They are not stupid people, they're simply stuck in a situation I'm personally thankful for which I am not. We have all seen this once-great-company compared to now, and it's truly deplorable. Those who stay, if they're decently intelligent, know it's not because the company is gonna get better. They're just trying to find a back-up plan now that is not wfm.

@ @HSezcpz-gaa You're not really GONE or you wouldn't be wasting your time on here. Love or hate WFM, seems like it's always on your mind, no??

My RVP once gave me 2% raise and the next lazy boy in the same office got 3%. That's how awesome this company is. Suck the right assle, get rewarded even for not doing anything. Guess, Wallstreet is doing you some serious justice as all the vested options are next to a sewer, keep looking at them and they will never be any good.

Really? Then why are so many team members and leaders being laid off or fired on technicalities? Why are numerous positions being done away with? Why are so many full-timers being replaced by part-timers? Why are so many even in upper leadership leaving the company? This post is a load of crap.

The only "friggin babies" (as the troll who posted this so arrogantly put it) in WFM are the ones occupying the very highest roles in global and regional. Everyone else sees that WFM is circling the drain.

Really? You're right though. If I give the right kind of lovin' to the right kind of people (or person, hopefully just one person) then I probably WILL make more money. A whole dollar raise if they liked my 'performance'.

Sorry to sound like a sad sack, but only a sad sack would still believe that working here and following this sad kind of advice is going to make anything better than the sad sack of silly it is. Glad I'm GONE.

What prospects and optimism can you share about the company, because it doesn't seem like it has a sustainable future. My team and store is great despite attrition, but I don't see why I should continue to invest further into Whole Foods job-wise.
