@Socholm Cynde, it's illegal to fire someone for attempting to organize workers. Of course that doesn't stop management from threatening anyway.

the school won't be around long enough to make it through the talks. New round of teach out schools to be announced...and, if there is a move to unionize, f/t positions will be pushed to under 30 hours, benefits will be forfeited and ALL faculty will be adjunct...choose your path wisely...I have no dog in the fight...

As a former employee and EC member, I will tell you this - I don't know if unionizing is still an issue for EDMC in light of the latest round of "news", but I know this for certain - We were briefed that we were to keep our eyes open for union members on campus and were "taught" what to say to them if we caught them in the building. EDMC was very, very concerned as to what would happen if the faculty decided to unionize.

Maybe that doesn't matter now, but a couple years ago it was quite important. Could it be that EDMC does not pay their faculty a fair wage? If this is the case (and from what I hear the instructors, it is!) then of course, EDMC would fight a union.

HR is so clueless to all of this. Union folks have been on so many campuses so many times, Every faculty has at least one card by now. Campus Presidents usually are so scared of enraging faculty or their own superiors they look the other way.

Fraud Clown once even held a meeting about unions on campus and admitted they had been in on many occasions at LA when he was the Prez there.

To all those faculty members at Ai contemplating engaging in collective bargaining a warning:

At least in the preliminary stages of forming a Union, it is never an intelligent idea to (ANNOUNCE IT TO THE WORLD). But since you have been telegraphing your intentions so clearly to do so, it is my obligation to inform you that in no uncertain terms my hands are not tied in this matter and severe repercussions will result. Let it be known that any attempt by any employee of EDMC to engage on any EDMC campus in recruiting will result in your swift termination.

It saddens me to have to use such harsh words with the professional staff but do not force my hand.

One more thing. Any attempt to falsify the electronic log in/out record will result in terminal action. Don't try me! You are being monitored.

Ahhh, an people wonder why Ai schools don't do well with such bright and talented students such as this one. Did no one else want you with your 1.5 GPA and criminal record?

Not yet but we will soon! We are focused on Los Angeles, Hollywood, Inland Empire and San Diego right now but will expand soon. Hollywood and Los Angeles have been trying many illegal things with faculty contracts for both Adjunct and Full Time so we wanted to focus there first.

Be negative if you want, we are gaining more faculty support every day and have full contact with several unions in the CA area. We have over 20 instructors now across several Cali AI's and even the support of a campus president at a teach out campus (i know it's a teach out, but it's a start while you all do nothing). As California goes so will the nation!

Everyone needs to get on board. California region is starting to put it into motion. Already have nearly 20 instructors on board between San Diego, Hollywood, and Inland Empire. We can do this people!
