Not surprisingly I do not believe anyone is worried about that. No kidding.

Craft should hope that VZ does not bankrupt the wireline side by spinning it off and saddling wireline with 60 billion of debt. Watch the pensions and contract both go adios.

No one should even doubt the possibility of that happening.

LOL @ rkp - you will never be able to make Verizon successful with the current leadership in place. Not with go90 and HUM!

Grow up blubber body! You would never be employed if it wasn't for management. Oh, by the way, you girls did not build wireless. You would have problems fixing a flat tire, a reality check is needed.

How about everyone get back to work and do a good job and help this company succeed. Stop the childish behavior.

For wireline

fairpoint = rapid death (goes bankrupt and voids union contracts)

Verizon = slow death (hang on for 5-10 years)

Pick one

You know, in a couple of weeks a lot of spreadsheet warriors and cubicle jockeys are going to want to come to this site and exchange information relating to the massive RIF. They're going to want to know how to get in on the age discrimination class action suit, how to reapply for jobs, how best to handle severance packages, etc.

And all the people who like calling names and hurling insults and spreading rumors are going to make this site as useless as it is now.

Yea, VZ gave back contact work, offshored call center work ect. Union kicked their buttstock and land the best contract in decades.

Yes there certainly was a lot of givebacks this contract. Any CEO would be very pleased with as you say, "all" the givebacks the union was forced to give, Lowell McAdam should be CEO of the year in Money magazine the way he handled the strike and beat down the Unions into giving "all" those givebacks...Your right OP. It was just great to see the Union come crawling back with nothing to show for it. Just "all" the givebacks.

The union will not screw the retirees next contract like they did the last two. They will be dealing with Fairpoint.
