Actually, the ones I saw up front taking notes were people from corporate communications, who's job it is to... you know... take notes and stuff.
Probably his counsel taking notes to make sure they can cover him later for anything he may say.
Forget just the front row, I blame everybody in attendance for not cutting off either of the two people at the mics and telling them "get to your question please".

How do people even get invited to attend in person? Or did these front row people just sit in line 4 hours ahead of time but they are masters of looking busy even if they aren't?
