Although slowly the layoffs are starting again. I heard there will be a big round of layoffs in August hitting Upstream again. Expats in Houston are already being given notice of repatriation; ITC, Shipping, etc. The good times just keep coming. I was told I will be out of a job by years end. This was all part of my plan to look for another job in my 60's. Unlike some, I wasn't with CVX long enough to retire so life isn't always predictable.

Good luck but something will break! And yes Chevron needs $50 oil. And are still getting bled dry by Gorgon and Wheatstone. And yes there is no job openings. I am still here...my biggest issue is we lost the right OC...we layed off way to many strong competent employees while deadwood was painted green and called vibrant.
I looked at the Chevron website yesterday and checked out the careers section for Houston. I went through every job category. There was only one opening posted for a cyber threat security specialist. That should tell everyone here what the current employment situation is at Chevron, at least in Houston. The industry as a whole has not yet stabilizedone and layoffs will continue everywhere. Any openings out there will strictly be by word of mouth. Good luck to all of you who have, or will soon lose your job.
Lay offs wont stop until CVX makes profits in upstream and that wont happen with $50 oil price.
