Well, for Wireline, until 2 or 3 months ago, I saw line trucks relatively often in an area where they had shut the shops down a long time before. I can't recall seeing a single WFT wireline related vehicle since then(assuming that the wireline pickups still all have the racks in the back), I see a WFT pickup occasionally, but they still have 1 or 2 divisions in the area that don't carry racks, so I believe that the truck is from them. Most wireline companies have pulled out of this area, so the few remaining ones are pretty well set for work now. Only thing that might draw some of the companies to return here is that they haven't been able to sell their old shops yet.

There's been a bit of hiring in oilfield companies the last few weeks here, couple dozen jobs from expansion. From the sounds of it though, they are just expanding here for use as a staging area for another area where they don't have any assets, but it would be redundant for them to build up since the area they will be working is about halfway between 2 existing shops.

F--- any of the head office lackies in weatherford ampscott. If you kissed enough assand shot your mouth off just enough you were in. And we all watched while all these weasles ran around justifying eachothers jobs while sh--ting on the guys putting out the production. Sad to see that company go down, it was their mentality that not only brought that buisness to its knees, but pulled apart a family bond that crew had with eachother. Just glad i got to know the Ampscott name in its best of times.

Ampscot is declared complete shut down. Employees on floor given notice already but General manager and their family friends and all office people who never ever seen a pumpjack in their lives and managed the company by fooling the Houston managers still reap the benefit of POOR hard working laid off employees previously earned money for the company. But don't know about service shop. Now some realtor will have good luck again because previous fabrication shop was sold way lower than todays commercial real estate price which is app. $200 plus a sq.ft. I am laughing how intelligent HOUSTON is.

wireline still going, but field guys are all pissed off as they have cut their pay. Rumor is also that the fishing field guys are getting screwed and everyone is looking for a new job.

They shut down the entire production testing group. Grande Praire base and Calgary head office are all gone.
