Thread regarding Chevron Corp. layoffs

F U CVX

I am so tired of the people I have to deal with post-ESP ... hardly any e-mail responses, and if they do respond they are not very helpful. I hope oil goes down into the 20s again and CVX goes under.

Or not working so well?

Chevron went under a long time ago when they started worshipping employee networks, oil under blue water, the LNG pipe dream worthless processes, PRC, foreign NOC's, and incompetent a--hole managers. The competent few that are left are treated like $hit. The other half of the competent few are being laid off or have resigned already. I wish the best for the company, but I see no way to right a ship that is on the seafloor. Incompetent employees are masters at networking, sucking up, and securing their next job. Competent employees do their job, don't have the interest or time to suck up or network and are usually left holding the bucket. Wah wah wahh....I ain't complaining, just calling it like I see it. Only way to fix it is to unChevronize the whole damn company, but that will never happen because everything that has been created, instituted, and enforced is working so well.

Can you then please disprove that is so easy to null or reduce your pension and savings by the click of a mouth and then to blame fund market, world crisis, corrupt politicians and so on? It won't matter for you what would be the reason after your pension is reduced by 90%. Can you prove that you have (and guaranteed will have) always full control on what your earned during your long "hardworking" career?

You just hate different points of view, cannot tolerate something not fitting your world, even if that is true. This is racist and fascist attitude. Someone wants to bring you back to reality, helping you to look around, and understand that all your wealth, savings, pensions, benefits are just virtual numbers in someone's computers and can be eliminated or reduced momentarily by the click of a mouth. Just telling you truth that the us is not and never was great, and you are not exceptional, but just tiny elements of the "project USA", which is now "the Moor has done his duty, let him go" . Just wanting to help you, but getting back fascistic hatred. Because it breaks your virtual world of happiness. Racism. Fascism.

That may well be the intended purpose, xjl. It's just a place to come and vent. I remember as early as January last year, this site offered a lot of good information along with the occasional troll trying to spoil things. Today, it's useless to come here, as its full of trolls spewing insults, immaturities, and falsehoods. If that's what they call venting, I'd hate to be in these people's lives. I'd rather be far away from these people.

I think that the site was also left open & anonymous for the ability and freedom to let disgruntled workers vent, as some have pointed out, so with any degree of moderation, that would be all but eliminated. So I guess you get what you see here.

It's too bad TheLayoff.com forum is completely open to anyone. It's has become invaded by several relentless posters who contribute nothing of value, only diatribe and insults. The people who used to come here to share and discuss Chevron topics seriously and with a bit of humor are now gone.

The administrators of this website would serve themselves and the Internet community if they would require everyone to create a login ID tied to a verifiable email address and IP address. They should moderate the site for content and block repeat offenders. They should also enable each ID the ability to flag and block posts from select posters. Maybe doing this would invite more serious discussions on this board. Wasn't that the purpose for developing the site?

I mean a loser In more strategic and fundamental and longer term sense, everything you mentioned is going to be burned momentarily by upcoming financial system catastrophe, poor near retirement child, don't you see and understand this?

I wouldn't consider a person nearing retirement age receiving a years pay severance, a healthy pension, good retirement benefits and a sizable 401k(in most cases), one of the best departing packages in the corporate world, a loser. But then of course there are those younger folks who are just starting out.

don't worry about your chevron pension. you won't have any pension from chevron or any other pension from any government. possibly (!!!) you could have some food stamps from the transition government or more likely some humanitarian help from United Nations in a couple of years

I can understand wishing Chevron the same pain you are feeling. But don't wish the company to go out of business. Your pension may depend on it. Certainly your colleagues and friends still there depends on it. Best to you.

No surprise there. It is the same at most companies. Once you are gone, you don't exist anymore. It happened to me and I have seen it happen to others. Personally, I just don't give a sh-- and would much rather not have any contact with a former employer, unless it deals with money, taxes or insurance. Kind of like an ex wife who had dumped you to run off with another person. I feel your pain.
