Thread regarding Whole Foods Market Inc. layoffs

365 Stores - This management is desperate!

By now they've got the gist of the public's response and mockery to the 'tatoo-parlors' GUESS WHAT? In a desperate move they are now considering 'Pet-grooming parlors' Hello!!! In a food-store??? What next?? Funeral parlors??? Or maybe Massage Parlors??? Your thoughts!!

Whole Foods 11 years ago had a prime look at the future by way of the UK. The UK back then was already on the click and collect model, innovating with online shopping with home delivery. Did David Lannon, or the Failed Jeff Turnass even consider this?!? NO. Just like Eastmann Kodak and Block Buster video they failed to look at the trend and capitalize to bring this to the forefront. They will end up just like those now defunct companies.

Fron the originator of this thread to the last commentor- You are dead on! It takes years to build a brand, 5, 10 or more, less if you lucky! The biggest challenge WFM core has is the 'whole pay check' image. At this juncture they are very brazen to tag alone WFM to 365 and call it '365 by WFM' Holy moly just how is this one going to stick!

America is not interested in making yet another stop at an inadequate retailer. I'm sure Trader Joe's is totally unconcerned. In fact, they'll probably intentionally open additional locations right next door just because it's fun to do. Meanwhile those interested in a full service grocery store will continue to flock to Wegman's, Publix, Sprouts, and Meijer. The entire 365 concept is a way of distracting attention from the unfolding epic fail that is going on at the main business. If you can't run your existing core business very well, how in the world can you possibly succeed at a new one?

HaZDOaG-tuu, right on the money you are. I'd totally study with snacks (and then relax with a beer and a meal) if there was a decent quiet place to do so with competent wi-fi. So many of the seating areas at the whole foods I go to are smack dab at the end of the jangling registers. PLUS yeah, the wi-fi usually is a joke. This will fall on deaf ears, though. No one at global wants to admit they're ineffective. Hell, they'd rather watch it burn to the ground and say 'yeah, we planned it that way. People just don't understand that we're trying to save the planet'. Yup, sure.

If they want to draw in college kids they need to put things in such as a study lab with excellent Wi-Fi but cooler than the library because they can eat and drink in there. Things like that should be the focus not pet grooming and tattoo parlors. Maybe bring in groups of college kids and ask them what they would like to see 365 carry/do for them to make it tailored to them. Stop letting regional come up with ideas, they are not good at it.

You've got to be kidding! They really are grasping at straws here. The 365 Stores are being headed up by none other than Jeff Turnas, the former President of UK region, who ran it into the ditch. His last "contribution" to the UK region was to preside over the layoffs of most of the regional office positions. He should have been fired. With Jeffy boy at the helm, the 365 Stores don't stand a snowball's chance!

Find a better company to work for before it becomes a complete embarrassment to even be associated with Whole Foods.
