Software developer (Utah) just got laid off May 27. 18 years with Xerox. No closures, no lost contracts. "business decision" was the reason. I had more than enough work ahead of me. I watched the emails this week where members of the India development team were now assigned to my work.

After 17 yrs with xerox I was let go on the 'Reduction in Force' excuse with no notice at all. Then a manager (not my own!) documented that I was 'retired'! I guess that looks better on paper. I was only 58 yrs old. I did receive my severance pay but I worked my butt off for that!! That was nearly 6 yrs ago. Too bad a good company has so many bad administrators running this company into the ground!! I hope my former co-workers can keep their jobs for now!! Good luck guys!!
Been there and done that with Xerox. 20 years ago Xerox layed me off . Nothing has changed with that Company
