Thread regarding Xerox Corp. layoffs

Rosemont /Webster Overworked and Underpaid

The delivery support team at both Rosemont and Webster have been overworked and underpaid for months now. Half the staff left due to piss poor management, not being hired on full time (more than half the staff were temps for years), rumors of the company outsourcing, etc. As the team got smaller, more work was put on those who stayed, because no one was ever replaced. More and more ridiculous tasks were given to this team, making day to day tasks impossible. After months and months of busting butts to meet expectations, the team is told their position is being outsourced.

Yeah, good luck Guatamala folks who are taking over this position. Xerox will crap on you just as bad for half the pay.

I feel sorry for all involved, the direct management for having to watch a team fall apart, the process coaches for having to write the transfer process for their friends knowing that it meant that they were losing their jobs and not being able to say anything to anyone. It sucks on one hand to have to hand over your job to someone thousands of miles away, and not be angry. At the end of the day, the near shore folks answered a job ad, not placed by anyone with any working knowledge of what we do but by a figure head looking at the bottom line. After having been a supervisor there and done my job and the job of 2 other supervisors on top of my own was let go because I did not make my personal call goal. As a salaried employee in order to meet my goal and do my job it would have required me to be there 12 hours a day 6 days a week. Oh wait I was already working 6 days a week. My "hour" lunch was 30 mins plus come in early for Sunday meetings. I got a new OM and with in 3 weeks was let go for the call goal issue and I was told by GM of the facility I would not lose my job over. After all missed goal by 1 call. My new OM lied to me about the reason I was even let go in the first place!! The call centers xerox runs are run by a bunch of liars and con artists. That's been my experience. If they are outsourcing to another country maybe the call centers will be run by someone with integrity.
