Yeah I couldn't believe it when his pitiful answer was he staying in a smaller hotel room. We all know he stays at an apartment in the four seasons that Chevron owns for executives to stay at when they're in town. How about giving up your jet and the Jets of all the presidents? Now that's a statement.

Let me get this straight, he isn't allowed to give out bad news (more like he can't handle it), he relies on BCG to make all the major strategic decisions, he's been completely wrong about energy markets for over two years now etc. What exactly does this guy do to justify his obscene salary and benefits package? Sounds like we could get someone else in there to do it for half the cost and not make any bigger mess of things.
I couldn't believe he said that about the hotel rooms when everybody knew about the $80 million bonus. I had to go back and watch it again. Chevron is a pitiful pyramid scheme.
@oyl - I don't think he's not capable of speaking to the public. I think it's more like he doesn't come across as sincere when speaking to the public. When he talks about saving the company money at a time when everyone knows what he gets paid, when he eagles a hole at the Pebble Beach golf tourney in the midst of massive layoffs... these are only two examples of his failure to come across as sincere.
I believe the Board of Directors is not allowing him to represent Chevron on the earnings call. After he rambled about how he is staying in a smaller hotel room to save the company money at the Employee Town Hall, he demonstrated he is an idiot and is not capable of speaking to the public.
