Curry is a very serious matter, just ask any Indian at Rankin Road.
What I have heard is that BHI didn't make the deep cuts like the other companies did because they were expecting the merger to go through and then Halliburton would make the cuts as needed. Now that the merger has failed, BHI will make the deep cuts in order to position itself for either another buy-out or to make it through this downturn. I also read that the largest shareholder, a hedge-fund, wants BHI to sell off divisions, something that the top BHI management does not want to do but they make not be in a position of strength to hold off the hedge-fund group. So all these posts about curry or Indians that seem to permeate serious discussions, where people are really concerned and seeking information, should stop. If you thought that things would get better if the merger was off, think again.
